1- Experienced tutor
Hi I’m Laura and I teach all the classes at Hampshire School of Jewellery.
I studied in Rochester for my BA(HONS) in Silversmithing, Goldsmithing and Jewellery Design and have worked in the jewellery industry since graduating in 2006. I started teaching 8 years ago and have a teaching qualification to help you get the most out of your lessons.
2- Class sizes are kept small
There will be a maximum of 6 students per session at our Basingstoke studio. This means you will get loads of help when you need it and I can tailor lessons to individual needs as required.
3- Individual work stations
Our Basingstoke Studio is kitted out with 6 jewellery benches and plenty of hand tools so you don’t have to wait to get on with your work.
4- Materials are provided for you
I source all the materials you will need so you don’t have to worry about bringing your own. These are charged per usage. Of course if you prefer to buy your own I can suggest some places for you to go to.
5- Encouraged to develop your own designs
I will always have examples to show you what you can make while learning a technique but you will be supported to discover your own style too.
6- Courses for every level of student
I teach courses from complete beginners through to advanced levels. Our Saturday Studio sessions offer tuition for a couple of hours, perfect as a taster session. The 10 week courses offer a more in depth look at jewellery making where you can learn lots of skills and techniques.
7- My lovely students!
Everyone is so supportive of each other that it’s a lovely environment where friends are made.
“Five Stars!! Great day. Really friendly and accessible. I felt at home. Really nice to be in a small intimate group so you get close attention and help. 100% recommend”
