About

The Hampshire School of Jewellery was established in the summer of 2016 by Laura Llewellyn.

Laura graduated in 2006 with a BA(hons) degree in Silversmithing, Goldsmithing and Jewellery Design from the University of Creative Arts in Rochester.

With experience across the jewellery industry including wholesale, retail, designing and manufacture Laura started teaching silver jewellery making with a local college in 2010 and qualified as an assistant lecturer during her time with them.

In Spring 2016 the college discontinued their Adult Education department and Laura decided to follow her passion of teaching…. the Hampshire School of Jewellery was born!

“I love working with people and watching them create and wear the jewellery they make.

Sharing my skills with my students is a real passion of mine.”

Laura Llewellyn

Since 2016 the school has grown from its beginnings to have a dedicated studio in Basingstoke where we see over 50 people a week and help them to learn to make jewellery as part of our friendly community.

We work with people at all different levels from complete beginners to those who have been jewellery making for years.  Hampshire School of Jewellery offers a variety of classes from introductory sessions such as making a silver ring or bangle to 10 week courses.  We teach a variety of skills from traditional to the more modern silver art clay.

We are working with guest teachers to add a variety of different classes to our programme.  You can stay up to date with the latest news by signing up to our newsletter or following us on social media where we love to share what our students have been making.

If you have any questions or would like to book a class please get in touch. We aim to respond to enquiries within 24 hours; please check your spam box as our replies have a habit of going there!
