Hampshire School of Jewellery – GDPR Privacy Notice
Please find below our GDPR Privacy Notice. This document was created in April 2018 inline with the new regulations that come into force on 25th May 2018 across Europe. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
If you are booked on a class or course with Hampshire School of Jewellery
Hampshire School of Jewellery only collect basic personal data about you at the time of booking your class/course. This does not include any special types of information or location based information. The only information we will collect from you when making a booking is name, email address and phone number.
We need this data to be able to contact you about any classes or courses you have signed up to participate in with us. This will primarily be done via email but if we need to contact you urgently we may also use your phone number. For example if there is staff sickness, or inclimate weather.
We store this information on the emails we have communicated with, paper class registers which will be shredded after the course/class and Mailchimp which will email you prior to your class with a reminder message.
This contact information is only accessible by Laura Llewellyn and it will only be used to contact you with reference to your booking.
Your information will not be shared with anyone else.
Mailing List
The only information our mailing list holds is name and email address so that we can send you our newsletter. We do not collect any special types of information or location based information. We only send out 1 or 2 emails a month.
All the personal data we process for our newsletter is processed by MailChimp and includes your name and email address. MailChimp holds this information on our Subscriber list. Each monthly newsletter gives the option to “unsubscribe”.
We do not use this information for any purpose other than our newsletter.
The information we use for our newsletter will be kept until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information or your choose the “unsubscribe” option from the newsletter.
You can email us to notify us that you no longer wish to receive the newsletter by using this email address laura@hampshireschoolofjewellery.com and putting “Unsubscribe from Newsletter” in the email subject.
Payments
Online payments are either by bank transfer or paypal; the information is encrypted and we can not access your payment information
In person we can also take card payments via izettle. Again the data is encrypted so we cannot access your information. We will never ask for your bank details over the phone as we do not hold this data.
What are your rights?
Whether you are a student or are on the mailing list if at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact us to have the matter investigated and we will get back to you within 28 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office https://ico.org.uk/
