Silver Wavy Stacking Ring Making Workshop

This workshop is a fun new variation of our original Silver Stacking Ring Making class. In this session, you’ll create a set of three silver stacking rings using a variety of silver wires, with the option to add a beautiful wavy pattern to your designs if you wish. If you’ve attended our original stacking ring class before, these rings will stack perfectly with your previous creations — or look just as lovely worn on another finger.

As you create your ring set, you’ll learn essential silversmithing skills including sizing, sawing, filing, shaping, soldering, polishing, and finishing silver. Each stage is broken down step by step, making this class ideal for complete beginners as well as those with a little jewellery-making experience. You’ll leave wearing your own gorgeous handmade silver rings.

The class takes place at our Basingstoke studio and is taught by Laura, who has over 15 years’ experience teaching jewellery making.

What’s included:

• Use of all tools and equipment in the studio

• Consumables such as solder

• Expert guidance throughout the workshop

Materials:
Silver is charged per usage on the day. You’ll be able to choose from a selection of 1.5mm silver wires and have the option to add textures and patterns to personalise your rings. If you’d like to include a gold-filled wire ring in your set, this can also be purchased on the day.

Gold-filled wire has a brass core with a thick layer of gold permanently bonded to the surface, giving the look of solid gold at a much more affordable price than solid gold.

Timing:

• Allow 1.5 – 2 hours per ring

• Most students complete three rings within the 3-hour session

Cost:

• £60 for the workshop (includes tools, tuition, and consumables)

• Silver charged separately per usage on the day.  Estimated silver costs £15 – 30 for a set of 3 rings.

Age Restrictions

Classes are suitable for anyone over 16; for ages 14-16 they will need to be accompanied by an adult who is also booked into the class.  Please contact us to discuss the suitability of classes for under 14’s prior to booking.
